Settings List
The settings screen is divided into “System”, “Viewer”, and “Book”.
“System” contains settings related to the app’s overall system.
“Viewer” contains settings that are common to all books, mainly for when viewing a book.
“Book” is shown only while a book is open, and contains viewing settings that apply only when reading that book.
In the explanations below, items marked with the 📕 icon can be configured individually for each book.
System > File List
Ask Before Opening a Book
When you select a book in the file list, shows a choice to start reading from the beginning or continue.
Default is OFF.
Sort Order
In the file list, choose whether to show folders above files.
Shorten File Name[ON/OFF]
Omits parentheses and brackets, like:
[Author name] Book Title.zip ⇒ Book Title
The author name is shown on a separate line.
Home Folder
Changes ComicGlass’s root folder (the topmost folder shown) from the Documents folder to the Downloads folder.
List Style
You can change the file list format to a simpler one. (Legacy specification)
We recommend leaving it as Detailed.
Select Folder in Archive
ON (default): If a zip/rar file contains folders, you will be able to choose which folder to read.
OFF: Folders inside the archive are ignored (files inside the folders will be viewed).
Auto-Select Single Folder
Even if “Select a folder in archive” is ON, if there is only one folder it will be selected automatically.
System > Bookshelf
Theme
Sets the bookshelf theme (appearance).
Display Folder Name
Shows folder names in Bookshelf mode.
System > Network
Sync Bookmarks Using iCloud
When this feature is ON, bookmarks are synced across multiple devices.
(When reading a file with the same name on another device, the reading position is synced.)
Works for both local and remote files.
Maximum Number of Histories
You can view the reading history from ComicGlass’s home screen and menu, and choose how many history entries to keep.
You can also disable it if you don’t want to show the reading history.
Streaming Settings
Configures how streaming viewing works.
Load Remote Thumbnails
When viewing a remote file list, automatically loads the file contents and generates thumbnails.
Since this uses network traffic, you can set it to ON/OFF or Wi‑Fi only.
Do Not Store Password
Disables automatic saving of passwords when accessing remote locations. Passwords are securely stored in the Keychain.
System > Download
Save to Download Folder[ON/OFF]
When transferring books to ComicGlass over the network, saves files to ComicGlass’s Downloads folder.
The Downloads folder is not backed up (not synced to iCloud, etc.). Files will be lost when you change devices, etc. For files you can’t re-download, move them to the Documents folder, or download them with this setting OFF.
*This behavior was implemented to comply with Apple’s policy that “re-downloadable files must not be included in iCloud backup.” If you need backups, we recommend turning this OFF.
File Overwrite
Choose what to do when a file with the same name as the one you’re trying to transfer from the network already exists in ComicGlass.
Download List
In the remote file list, choose whether to display the file name or directly display the name specified in the link.
Select Multiple Files to Download
You can select multiple files when downloading, but turning this OFF disables that.
(Tapping a file will download that file.)
All System > SMB Settings
Default SMB Library
Select how Windows file sharing behaves.
Auto = Select automatically.
Auto (Req.signature) = Select automatically, but uses SMB2 when a signature is required.
SMB1/2 = Operates with SMB2-compatible behavior.
SMB1 = Supports SMB1 only.
Hide files starting with a dot
Choose whether to show hidden files that start with a dot (.) when connecting via SMB.
System > Launch & Exit
Master Passphrase/Require at Startup
If you set a master password and turn on the launch prompt, you will need to enter the password when ComicGlass starts.
Show icon badge
If you are in the middle of reading a book (a book is open), shows the page number you are on as a badge.
Resume Automatically
If ComicGlass exits while you are in the middle of reading a book (a book is open), it automatically resumes the book that was open when ComicGlass starts.
Go to Last Folder
Even if ComicGlass exits, it shows the last opened folder on the next launch.
Sort Mode
Choose the string sorting method for things like file-name order.
Natural = Sorts in a natural order, e.g., treating number sequences as numbers. (Example: 2.zip comes before 10.zip.)
ComicGlass Classic = Compatibility mode for older versions.
Legacy = Sorts strings simply by code order. (Example: 10.zip comes before 2.zip.)
Non-unicode charset
When there are files with a non-UNICODE character encoding (when they can’t be encoded in UTF-8), select the character encoding to try first.
Language(Restart ComicGlass)
In ComicGlass’s overall language settings, disables per-language switching (switches to English mode).

📕Display Double Page[ON/OFF]
When the screen is in landscape, displays two pages side by side (two-page spread).
By default, this is OFF on iPhone and ON on iPad.
📕Split Spread Page[ON/OFF]
When the setting is not two-page spread, or when the screen is in portrait, splits wide images into left and right halves and treats each as one page.
Even if a book is scanned as spreads, splitting left/right makes it easier to read on an iPhone in portrait. Default is ON.
Single-Page Front Cover
Even when in a state where two-page spread is used, displays the cover (page 1) as a single page.
This ensures the left/right pairing is correct when scanning in the order: page 1 = cover, page 2 = first page.
📕Switch Split Pages[ON/OFF]
When “Split spreads” is ON, swaps left and right of the split pages.
📕Don't Keep Aspect Ratio[ON/OFF]
When displaying pages, ignores the aspect ratio to fill the screen.

Sets the background color when margins appear on the screen, or when there is a gutter.
Inner margin
Sets the amount of margin inserted in the center during two-page spread display.
Swap Double-Page
Swaps left and right in two-page spread display.

While reading, choose whether to show or hide the status bar in iOS where the clock, etc. is displayed.
